Organisational Flag

The Republic of Singapore Navy service flag is white and the red canton is from the national flag. The lower fly is charged with a red stylised 8-pointed cardinal device (termed 'Mariner's Compass'). This flag is derived from the Singapore Naval Ensign. It is a requirement that the RSN Naval Ensign be flown with the Singapore national flag and the SAF Tri-Service flag when hoisted ashore. While the legislative papers gave the RSN Naval Ensign official proportions of 1:2, it is more common to fly flags of similar proportions together. Thus when flown ashore as a service flag, the ensign takes the proportion of 2:3.

This flag is the State Colour of the Navy, which is only displayed at Ceremonial Events such as on National Day Parade held on 9th August, on visits by Heads of Governments or States or at the President's inspection. It is based on the National Flag with the Navy badge on the lower fly.
